In this session we look at the psychological impact of the menopause. This is the area that comes as a shock to a lot of women, as anxiety and depression can become a real issue for many women. We will also look at the importance of diet and exercise in relation to the menopause.
This session will cover:
- Psychological symptoms: low mood, anxiety, anger, depression, etc.
- Symptom management: CBT techniques; Mindfulness; Emotional Freedom Therapy/Tapping
- Food and Mood
- How to implement a self-care regime and why it is important
Looking at what we eat, and when we eat, will have the biggest impact on how we manage the menopause. We will cover:
- Why we put on weight during the menopause
- Managing blood sugar levels for energy
- Phytoestrogens - what are they and why are they important?
- Recipe ideas and guides
- Exercise
